Job Summary:
The Human Resources Department at Lansing Community College models leadership that promotes a caring, committed connection to all areas of the college and demonstrates a commitment to the diversity, inclusion, and access of all individuals. The bargaining unit contract administrator for faculty union collective bargaining agreement will lead all investigations related to allegations of misconduct by teaching faculty and academic professionals, including those who are members of the faculty union, other bargaining units and non-bargaining employees as assigned. This position will exercise complex problem-solving techniques that include a combination of College procedures, applicable collective bargaining language, legal compliance, alignment with similar past situations, public perception, and stakeholder input. The Labor Relations Administrator will provide expertise and responsive service in the following areas and their related functions: issue resolution, grievance administration, contract bargaining, and supervisor coaching related to leadership issues and employee performance issues.
This position acts as the subject matter expert in all areas related to the LCC-Faculty collective bargaining agreement. They will develop and maintain positive working relationships with union and College leadership as well as provide guidance and direction to all levels of administration related to labor and employee issues. The Labor Relations Administrator will be an active participate in and advise the negotiations of Collective Bargaining Agreements as well as Grievance processes at all levels. As a key part of the Labor Relations team, this position will demonstrate a commitment to the diversity of a multi-cultural population, as well as work effectively in a team-based environment, seeking continuous improvement and adherence to the community college philosophy.
Regular on campus presence is expected for all LCC employment. Any flexible work schedules and/or hybrid work schedules approved by the College are subject to change based on the needs of the LCC community.
LCC policy requires all LCC employees to be residents of the State of Michigan and to perform all work (with limited exceptions) within the State of Michigan.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree with major coursework in human resource, business, industrial relations, or related field, and significant years of relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Associate’s Degree and seven years relevant experience).
Demonstrated experience in the areas of labor and/or employee relations as investigator or contract administrator.
Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office products.
Excellent written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s Degree.
SPHR and/or SHRM-SCP Certification.
Contract administration in higher education and/or public sector.
Demonstrated experience in Title IX investigations and/or employee relations.
Experience with a case management system/software.
