| The Full-Time Mental Health Counselor will provide emotional support to students experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, relationship issues, alcohol/drug abuse and any other type of emotional situation interfering with academic success. The Mental Health Counselor assists individual students and groups with personal, social, and academic concerns in a manner that adheres to licensing requirements in the state of Michigan for Licensed Professional Counselors, Licensed Master Social Workers, and Licensed Psychologists as well as their respective professional association's code of ethics. |

PT Academic Professional - Writing Assistant - Writing Center

| Professional Writing Assistants work directly with students (both in-person and online) to assist with writing projects in all areas of the curriculum and at any stage in the writing process. Professional Writing Assistants provide individualized assistance to students one-on-one, in small group settings, and within classroom environments that is consistent with current methods in the disciplines of writing center studies and college composition. Professional Writing Assistants also spend a portion of their work time staffing the front desk in the Writing Center and attending required meetings and trainings related to their work. They may be involved in projects related to the Writing Center, departmental, divisional or collegewide committee work, hiring committees, peer mentoring with Peer Writing Assistants (student employees) or other Professional Writing Assistants, and/or a variety of additional professional development activities. Professional Writing Assistants must demonstrate a commitment to promoting the success of a diverse, multicultural population, as well as an ability to work effectively in a team-based environment, seeking continuous improvement and adherence to the community college philosophy. |

Student Employee - Peer Writing Assistant

| The primary role of the Peer Writing Assistant (Peer WA) is to provide writing support to students across the college. Peer WAs will be assigned to work in the Writing Center in which they will support student writers one-on-one, and occasionally in small groups, as well as possibly within English classroom settings. Peer WAs will work as assigned throughout the semester; evenings and weekends may be required. |
