Job Summary:

Connecting to these values, the Academic Success Coach (ASC) is responsible for ensuring that assigned students receive persistent, proactive, individualized mentoring, academic coaching and support throughout their enrollment in Lansing Community College. The goal of the ASC is to increase student persistence, retention, and completion rates of their assigned students. This position will provide guidance and support to students during their tenure at the College. This individual must demonstrate a commitment to a diverse population, as well as work effectively in a team-based environment, seeking continuous improvement and adherence to the community college mission. This is a full-time, on-campus position.
Regular on campus presence is expected for all LCC employment. Any flexible work schedules and/or hybrid work schedules approved by the College are subject to change based on the needs of the LCC community.
Final candidates will be subject to a criminal background check as part of the employment process.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in a related area from a regionally accredited institution of higher education.
Demonstrated experience in presentation and public speaking, as well as excellent oral and written communication skills.
Experience working with diverse populations.

Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in a related area from a regionally accredited institution of higher education.
Relevant and progressively responsible experience in recruitment, orientation, advising or student affairs related areas.
Written and oral fluency in Spanish or Arabic.
Experience with case management.
Experience with computer applications, communication tools, and student information systems.
