Job Summary:

Student employees in the Health & Human Services (HHS) Division Office will assist with operating the office’s front counter by providing excellent customer service and maintaining a welcoming environment for the public, students, faculty, and staff. Front counter operations include: greeting and directing visitors, answering phone calls and emails, making proper referrals, and being knowledgeable on the College and the programs offered within the HHS Division. HHS Student employees will also provide general office assistance to the Division office and associated programs. These tasks include: filing, inventory duties, office cleaning, running campus errands, distributing mail, updating documents and spreadsheets, and performing copying and typing requests. Student employees in the HHS Division must maintain confidentiality and be able to work effectively with diverse groups of students and staff. They also will assist the Recruitment and Outreach coordinator with events, building tours, and inventory.

This position is for approximately 20 hours a week in the HHS Divisional Office in the Health & Human Services building on LCC’s main campus.

Requirements for LCC Student Employment:

The primary purpose of student employment is to provide current LCC students the opportunity to acquire job skills and experiences during semesters in which they are attending classes as follows:
• Enrolled and actively attending the following total LCC credit hours by semester
- Fall and/or Spring Semester(s) = 6.0 credits minimum (taken over 16-week period)
- Summer Semester = 3.0 credits minimum (taken over 8-week period)
• 2.00 GPA minimum (unless it’s student's first semester of enrollment at LCC and/or granted approval to waive requirement from the Student Employment Coordinator)

Note: International students (i.e. F-1 visa holders w/ valid I-20 issued by LCC) must meet the following minimum enrollment requirements each semester, in order to maintain employment eligibility per United States Citizenship & Immigration Services (USICS):
- Fall and/or Spring Semester(s) = 12.0 credits min. (taken over 16-week period)
- Summer Semester = 3.0 credits min. (taken over 8-week period)

Preferred Qualifications:

• 3.00 GPA minimum
