Job Summary:

This job posting is for a pooled position and will remain open for the 2026–2027 academic year. Student employees in the Center for Academic and Career Pathways (CACP) will provide general office assistance for Academic Advising, Career & Employment Services, and the Academic Success Coaches. Student employees in the CACP will assist with: answering and routing phone calls, updating documents/spreadsheets/databases, greeting and assisting visitors at the Career Center, Academic Advising desk, and Academic Success Lounge, assisting with department events, scheduling academic and career advising appointments, and providing additional office support as needed.

Through your employment with the Center for Academic & Career Pathways (CACP) you will gain valuable experience in leadership, teamwork, general office work, and customer service. Primary job duties include: Providing exceptional customer service both on the phone and in-person; Scheduling academic advising and career advising appointments; Providing general clerical support for the CACP including: filing, copying, shredding, restocking supplies, sorting mail, and other tasks assigned; Assisting with department sponsored events and activities including workshops, job fairs, and other campus events; Working independently and cooperatively in a team-centered environment, performing a variety of duties and balancing multiple priorities on a continuing basis.

Regular on campus presence is expected for all LCC employment. Any flexible work schedules and/or hybrid work schedules approved by the College are subject to change based on the needs of the LCC community.

LCC policy requires all LCC employees to be residents of the State of Michigan and to perform all work (with limited exceptions) within the State of Michigan.

Final candidates will be subject to a criminal background check as part of the employment process.

Requirements for LCC Student Employment:

The primary purpose of student employment is to provide current LCC students the opportunity to acquire job skills and experiences during semesters in which they are attending classes as follows:
• Enrolled and actively attending the following total LCC credit hours by semester
- Fall and/or Spring Semester(s) = 6.0 credits minimum (taken over 16-week period)
- Summer Semester = 3.0 credits minimum (taken over 8-week period)
• 2.00 GPA minimum (unless it’s student's first semester of enrollment at LCC and/or granted approval to waive requirement from the Student Employment Coordinator)
• High School Diploma or GED
• Actively pursuing a certificate, associates, or undergraduate degree at Lansing Community College
Note: International students (i.e., F-1 visa holders w/ valid I-20 issued by LCC) must meet the following minimum enrollment requirements each semester, in order to maintain employment eligibility per United States Citizenship & Immigration Services (USCIS):
- Fall and/or Spring Semester(s) = 12.0 credits min. (taken over 16-week period)
- Summer Semester = 3.0 credits min. (taken over 8-week period)

• 3.0 GPA
