Job Summary:
This position is responsible for processing and maintenance of student academic records within the student information system (SIS), which includes, but is not limited to, evaluation and processing of admissions applications, program changes, grade changes, registration, release of information forms, residency determination, and maintenance, and student type maintenance. Employees will be key members of the cross-departmental Identity Theft Committee, which includes the Director of Information Security and employees from Financial Aid, Student Finance, the Department of Public Safety, and the Registrar’s Office. This position is also responsible for admission application set-ups and maintenance within Banner, as well as running data integrity reports using Argos and Application Manager reporting tools to audit student records for accuracy, fraud, or duplication of accounts.
Using independent analytical decision-making, review and access student data to maintain accuracy of student records within Banner. Collaborate with the Registrar and Associate Registrar in developing and/or maintaining operating procedures, training materials, and compliance/data integrity safeguards for these processes. This position is required to stay current on changes to federal or state law that pertain to, or could impact, academic records. Support and train college personnel on these regulatory requirements and processes when applicable. Through exceptional customer service, the Student Records Support Specialist will serve as an expert for staff, students, and the general public on topics within the Registrar’s office. Staff will be required to answer the department phone line, respond to department emails, and represent the Registrar’s Office at college events as needed.
